Marcus + Lucy

03.04.2021

We had a “covid wedding” which was postponed by 12 months, this allowed us to change our wedding style from a “classic muted style” to celebration and party vibe, our stylist was onboard with the changes and introduced disco balls, big balloons, bright vibrant colours and our Custom Neon sign which was the centerpiece of our arbour.

The curation of our day meant alot to both of us. From having unique food options to the old school music choices, think Aretha Franklin and 50’s rock and roll, when our guests entered the ceremony space.

What made it so special was the ability to have all of our family and friends there in one spot. Especially after the year we have all had.

How did they meet?

We actually met in drama class when we were 10 years old but lost contact until we met at a “non-existent Bendigo nightclub” in university and the rest is history!”

The proposal story.

Lucy recalls “On the eve of my 26th birthday, Marcus had organised one of our friends who is a photographer to do a couple shoot down on the beach in Barwon Heads/Ocean Grove, a beach where we take all of our friends and family. Towards the end of the shoot, I turned around and Marcus was down on one knee! We then attended what was meant to be a surprise dinner for me, with all of our closest friends. Wouldn’t have changed it for the world.”

Fav part of the day?

“We loved everything about our day! The favourite part how true our day was to us, and of course celebrating with every one!”

Advice for couples planning their wedding.

“Stay true to who you are and what is important for your day. You don’t always have to follow tradition. Make at least one wild choice that really reflects you as a couple, it will really make all your guests remember their day! “

Tell us about your vendors!

“We worked with such an incredible team of vendors who brought our vision and dream day to life! It felt like we were working with friends! Which we were – Sammy we knew and met in uni and was our first person to think of when it came to photographing our wedding. Same goes for Ryan! Dave is just such a legend too! He slotted in so well today our day, became like part of our fam and kept the banter flowing!”
