Keegan + Cassandra

21-01-2023

Cassandra and Keegan’s wedding at the breathtaking Sault restaurant in Daylesford was the perfect take on fun, whimsy and romance. Their ceremony took place in the charming indoor barn nestled amidst vibrant lavender fields, with the serene lake serving as a picturesque backdrop for both their heartfelt vows and joyous reception.

From the moment the bridal party made their entrance in a kombi, the atmosphere was infused with a sense of wonder. Our couples chosen theme, whimsical and romantic, wove its magic throughout the day, as the air danced with hues of white and blush, reflecting the love that filled the air.

To set the mood, the talented duo, Bloom, serenaded our lovebirds and guests during the ceremony and canapés. Little did they know, a delightful surprise awaited them as they stepped into the reception—a DJ who seamlessly transitioned into a sax player, igniting the dance floor and keeping it pumping well into the night.

As the sun descended, Keegan and Cass seized the opportunity to capture the beauty of the moment. With Keegan’s lightsaber in hand, our couple embarked on a whimsical adventure, guided by their exceptional videographer, who skillfully brought the magic to life, using smoke bombs to pay homage to their shared love for Star Wars.

Truly, the sunset was nothing short of spectacular, a stunning backdrop for the celebration of our love. From the moment we said “I do” to the last dance of the night, their wedding day surpassed all their dreams and expectations, leaving them with hearts bursting.

Join us as we relive the lasting memories through Cassandra and Keegan’s eyes, recounting the unforgettable moments that made their special day more than they could have ever hoped for.

How did they meet?

“We first met in highschool, in maths class. Keegan will say he noticed me but I payed him little attention. Year 12 we started work together at Mcdonald’s where we started to talk a little before Keegan moved to a different job after high school ended”

Fast forward 2 years , when fate played its hand, bringing these two back together in an unexpected twist. An out of the blue reach out from Keegan started a string of dates and getting to know one another. Fast forward another ten years to now, and they wouldn’t change a thing!

The proposal story.

Cass recalls: “Keegan had many plans but unfortunately around the time of the planned proposal it was around the end of March 2020 when people were isolating due to Covid-19. We were renting an apartment back then and it was right around my Birthday. I have a yearly tradition where my mum makes the most amazing black Forrest cake and would be missing out this year. Keegan, who doesn’t normally bake, made me a beautiful black Forrest cake in honour of my mums and candlelit dinner on the balcony. Afterwards we sat with our 2 cats on their harnesses just enjoying the night air with our little family when he got down on one knee. It was very sweet and perfect to me.”

Fav part of the day?

“The sunset photos. The nerves leading up to the ceremony and vows had worn off and it was just Keegan and I soaking in the day and each other. It was just a spectacular view and walking through the lavender fields and dancing as the sun went down was just magical”

Advice for couples planning their wedding.

“The day goes by so fast, so just cherish ever single moment and don’t get hung up on the little details that aren’t exactly how you imagined.”

How did Culture Hitch help?

Cassandra and Keegan found their celebrant, photographer AND videographer via the Hitch! That’s what we call a Culture Hitch wedding 😀

Tell us about your vendors!

Celebrations with Steph was the best celebrant we could’ve asked for. She brings the energy levels up and her smile is just infectious. She put Keegan and I at ease constantly and was just a dream.

I cannot speak highly enough about Adam from Journey by light. He produced the most beautiful and magical photos from two normally very photo shy people. He made the whole experience enjoyable and feel natural.

Kimberley Moore Media was absolutely amazing. She made everyone laugh and just have fun with the video which made for some beautiful and funny footage. We can’t wait to see the finished product because the sneak peek was just above and beyond expectations.
