Ash + Dave

31.12.2021

Our NYE wedding was all about love and having a good time! It was a ripper hot day but that didn’t matter to us, we were both so caught up in the atmosphere of each other and our nearest and dearest

We got married in front of the shiraz vines (yum!) at the beautiful St Anne’s Winery in Ravenswood.
All the florals and decorations were DIY.

I love roses and proteas so they were always going to be a big part of the styling. I made the arbour piece and bouquets from a mixture of artificial florals from Desflora, Target, Spotlight and Treasure Hunter.

My very talented dad made our triangle arbour for us which we’ve now set up in our garden.

How did they meet?

These love birds met in 2016. Ash’s best friend worked with Dave at a pub and she wanted to enter the bottle-o competition to win a pink suitcase. She entered the competition with Ash’s name (and won!)-  Dave did a cheeky facebook stalk from the entry, and they were both out one Saturday night after that and were introduced. (They maaaay have shared a little kiss at good old star bar that night).

The proposal story.

Ash: “it was October 2020, we were still in semi-isolation where you could only have 10 people in a gathering. Dave had organised to propose in front of our families on our new block of land with our ‘SOLD’ sign. So when I peeled back the sold sticker there was another sticker underneath saying ‘will you marry me’. We have since built a house and live on the place where he proposed”

Fav part of the day?

Ash: “There is so much I loved about the day it’s so hard to pick a favourite! I guess my favourite part was hearing Dave’s vows. We wrote our own and he was very nervous about it (He’s not an overly affectionate person!) it was amazing to hear that our vows to each other were very in sync.”

Tell us about your vendors!

Ash and Dave had nothing but nice words to say about all of their vendors!

Luke our musician was amazing at personalising the songs to us and our day, he even teamed up with Dave’s sister and they sang our first dance song to us together- You and Me by Lifehouse.

Sophie knows exactly what she is doing and she’s so cool, calm and collected. She’s so easy to be around that you forget you have a camera following you all day.

Georgia is just the best! you can tell she loves what she does- she just loves love! she is amazing at personalising boring ceremony bits to make them reflect each couple so perfectly
