Adrian + Jess

07.03.2021

Adrian and Jess really wanted to create a day that was magical, relaxed and unique to who they are as a couple. They opted for a beautiful intimate ceremony on their property with their closest family and friends set under the canopy of overgrown gumtrees. Having a country inspired ceremony on their farm created a laid back vibe and allowed them to have their dog, Doug be part of their day and take photos in locations sentimental to them.

This was then followed by a fuller celebratory reception at Babylon’s garden bar in Bendigo. A romantic venue filled with wine barrels and fairy-lights, surrounded with green foliage truly lent itself to their unique laid back style. This turned out to be a key aspect of making the night, having a smaller venue that allowed all their guests to mingle and celebrate together between canapes, champagnes and dance floor serenades.

How did they meet?

These guys met 10 years ago both working on Adrian’s parents farm as a couple of teenagers milking cows. Love didn’t blossom until a couple years later, but friendship makes the basis of the best kind of love!

The proposal story.

One night Adrian decided that the night was the night, and asked Jess to marry him in her sleep. With Jess not being awake to agree, Adrian asked her again in the morning, and needless to say, the next stop was to pick out a ring. The rest is history.

Advice for couples planning their wedding.

“You will forget about all the things you were stressing about in the lead up to your wedding day once it arrives. Do things your way and everything will just fall in place. Also, try to book a venue, or property to have your reception
at that does not have a strict leaving time. You are spending so much money on having your perfect day with all of your favourite people, that your most precious asset on the day is time. The more time you can spend with your
loved ones celebrating, the better. It has made such a big difference to how we look back on our day partying with our friends and family into the later hours.”

How did Culture Hitch help?

“We love Bendigo, and wanted to use vendors that we knew would be the best in the business. Culture Hitch encompasses this all in one place. One huge hidden benefit behind hiring multiple vendors from Culture Hitch is that they all know each other well, and worked in together behind the scenes to make sure they can make our day perfect! With surprise confetti cannons, pre-organised location scouting, and witnessing them all teaming up to support each other in bringing out the most fun and relaxed day for us and our guests. It was a win, win situation.”

Tell us about your vendors!

“All our vendors made the absolute day a dream! If it wasn’t for their expertise, professionalism and being the best kind of people we’re certain we wouldn’t have had such a perfect day. We feel like we have become great friends with all of them and wish we had an excuse to hang out with them all again. We honestly could not thank them all enough for going above and beyond during the lead up and on our day, exceeding both of our expectations of what was required by them. They were all flexible and extremely understanding when we had to change our date due to restrictions.”
