Sarah + James

04.12.2021

Everything they could have asked for and more, Mr + Mrs Blood’s day was filled with smiles, love, excitement and laughter from start to finish. James left the whole wedding speechless with his amazing vows, which really set the scene for the day. After a couple of pretty tough years in lockdown their day saw them reunited with family they hadn’t seen in a very long time. Sarah recalls “It was amazing to be reunited, without restrictions, to dance, drink, and feel the love in the air. The best day ever.”

How did they meet?

James and Sarah met at a mutual friends party all the way back in 2014 in Deniliquin. They shared a cheeky little kiss that night but went separate ways for 2 years until fate reunited them back in Bendigo. It was a bit of a cat and mouse game until they finally got together. And once they did, there was no doubt for either of these two that it was going to be a forever thing.

The proposal story.

Sarah recalls “We had just come out of lockdown in 2020, so we went to Ballarat to see James’ family after a long few months a part. James suggested we take out dog Hank out to his family’s farm for run around and have some lunch. We set up a rug and were eating lunch when James suggested a walk around the dam. Hank (our pooch) and I were a few steps ahead of James when I looked back and saw him on one knee! I of course said yes, then he got flowers and champagne out of the car!”

Fav part of the day?

For Sarah it was James’ beautiful vows, so heartfelt and delivered thoughtfully and like a pro (+ some off the cuff!). For James it was seeing stunning Sarah walk down the aisle, plus of course the speeches later on!

Advice for couples planning their wedding.

“People say it all the time, but don’t sweat the small stuff. Don’t lose sight of what the day is about, it should feel like the easiest day ever, marrying your life partner and celebrating that love with your nearest and dearest. It comes and goes in a flash, so don’t wish any days away – enjoy the lead up. Enjoy the love bubble!”

Tell us about your vendors!

“They were all incredible and made our day so easy. Dave from twenty-four18 made us feel so relaxed and knew all the best spots to shoot, the video he delivered us blew our minds. Georgia our celebrant made us feel so at ease and we totally followed her lead from the start of the process to the end. Nic our photographer was so much fun, so friendly, laid back and made us feel so special. My make up artists Glow Beauty and Be Beautiful by Jess, as well as our hair stylist Hair By Stevidee did such a perfect job making us feel glammed and ready. Our flowers were done by my beautiful Sister in law Gab, who we are so thankful for.”
