Sue and David are the owners of Mimosa Glen. It’s their connection and understanding of the land that will make your Wedding here, a truly memorable experience.
Sue’s family are 5th Generation farmers that have made a living off the land. While still managing their own local farm businesses, Sue and family take care of Mimosa Glen and open it for weekend Weddings, small intimate Weddings and accommodation. The Estate can accommodate up to 10 adults, 6 within the main Homestead and 4 in the Cottage.
You will receive a warm open-hearted greeting that only a local can provide, when you arrive at Mimosa Glen. This is because Sue loves to meet and greet her guests. She often shares her stories of the property, country life and the restorations they’ve made to the early 1880’s Homestead and beautiful surrounding gardens.
Their restorations have preserved many of the original features of the Homestead. “The original craftsmanship was beautiful and worth retaining,” Sue explained. You will get a taste of days-gone-by with spacious Victorian style lounge with open wood fireplace. Classic country-style surrounding timber verandas with lush gardens that extend beyond them.
The Woolshed is full of country charm with open rafters and a large outdoor deck with spectacular countryside views. One of nature’s assets at our Estate, the ancient granite boulder we affectionately call: ‘The Wedding Rock,’ has a natural amphitheatre and a majestic backdrop of the Tooborac Ranges. It’s truly unique and spectacular.
Mimosa Glen is a representation of Sue’s enduring dedication to Victoria’s Heartland Countryside. This includes: its history; its sustainability; its beauty; its local produce; its community and the realisation of a place where you can enjoy special occasions with your family and friends.
Mimosa Glen is an eco-ethical Wedding venue with a carbon neutral footprint. This was achieved by Sue’s practise in sustainable gardening and property management. We have a mission to enable more couples to mindfully Wed and reduce their impact on the environment.
A formal ‘sit down’ dinner can be provided for up to 90 people inside the Woolshed, or up to 150 people on the surrounding grounds (with or without a marquee). A more casual cocktail or picnic style option can be provided for up to 150 people, utilising both the indoor and outdoor spaces.
